Dark woods

Dark Woods Coffee was born on the weather beaten moors on the outskirts of Huddersfield.  This simple northern town, has beautiful landscape, friendly locals and an unusual number of coffee companies!
That is how we all met; Damian worked for a large well-respected company, in charge of roasting coffee for some of the most prestigious accounts in the country. In the same village, Paul ran Coffee Community, providing barista training and consultancy to some of the biggest coffee brands worldwide, and Ian based in the next village, was fighting the corner for the coffee farmers, running a number of charities and ethical companies.

 A Winter Stroll

Outside, the colorful world has all been covered by pure white snow, solemn, tranquil and clean. The windows in the houses are taught by nature to draw frost flowers on the pane, with a thick layer of ice blossoms expanding the entire glass, forbidding people from watching the outer world.  Households are cooking warm dinners, with soups exhaling swirls of white mist bringing ambrosial scents. Other fried vegetable dishes are also fixed and placed on the table waiting for loved ones to come back. Most families will go directly watching TV after a square meal. But having had a full stomach and a warmed body, I put on my turtleneck and a big thick red down garment and go out strolling with my mother.

Indian wedding ceremony day

Indian wedding ceremony day

1. In many Indian weddings, quite a few people are chatting, sometimes even eating or skipping the ceremony altogether. How do you avoid this?

This situation arises if the guests are not involved or if the ceremony is too long and/or if it is not explained in English.
We  avoid this by getting guests involved in the ceremony as witnesses, explaining  to them the significance of each and every step in English and conducting the  whole ceremony in an hour or so.
Some Indians think the ceremony is too boring and may skip it completely; because they have seen too many long and boring ceremonies. I have observed many empty chairs for the  ceremony but the reception attendance increases dramatically. This is especially embarrassing in Indo-American weddings.
The hosts need to request all guests to arrive well before the start time. They should emphasize that guests need to witness and bless the couple at many key steps of the ceremony. Finally, no food or drinks should be served in the wedding hall during the ceremony.
